The electron configuration is the arrangement of electrons of an atom. It concerns the way electrons are distributed in the orbitals of the atom. There are ${\displaystyle 4}$ orbital types (${\displaystyle s}$,${\displaystyle p}$,${\displaystyle d}$,${\displaystyle f}$) and up to ${\displaystyle 7}$ different energy levels where an electron may reside.
